I have recently become a member myself here at QCA and find the information very valuable. I have always dabbled in quilting since my last son was born (over 16 years ago), but have become more serious since I can't seem to find a teaching job in Michigan (just relocated back from Arizona). Such is life...now I spend my days quilting away. Oh Darn!!

Welcome Colette! We have a number of Michigan gals in the group now. Your puppy dog is a cutie. He / she should check out the Farm Animals conversation thread and get to know some of the other fur baby helpers we have. They are almost as "chatty" as us humans. :o)

Oh, you silly girl. Why would you leave the warmth of Arizona to return to the cold country? (...says someone even more foolish living in Minnesota) Yes, it's harder to get into the schools now if you are not fresh out of college (read that as "cheap") with schools struggling so with budgets these days. Our district has been in cutting mode for several years already. Good luck with your job search.
And welcome to QCA where quilting lifts us away from our daily worries! Life is good!

Hello from another Michigander. I am in the Grand Rapids area. Quilting is much better than working - I just need to figure out how to quilt full time!

Hi Yellowtruckgirl,
I see from your profile that you live in Olivet. Now most people, even in MI, wouldn't know were that is but I do. I live in Battle Creek. Pennfield to be exact just off M-78. Small world and welcome to QCA.

Hi Collette,
My hubby's family is sprinkled all over Michigan. From Howell to Jackson and family in Indiana as well. He says Olivet is a beautiful town with lots of trees.
Anyway, Welcome and whether it be teaching or quilting, wish you all the best and hope you enjoy the site.
Welcome to the club Collette.
