i'm not sure i would use a pattern.   the words are different lengths and you can make them different heights.  i would plan several colors and mix and match the backgrounds with the words.  and use them as different sized blocks that you tie together with, maybe a row of three stars, for instance.  the words could be machine appliqued. you could scatter in inspirational  blocks that have meaning for her. a sisters block or shining star.

Yep I have worked on a quilt today actually two quilts technically. One that I am piecing and one that is middle of piecing with a quilt as you go method.  The quilt as you go method I quilted for that one.  The piecing one is the same one I have been working on throughout this thread :)

I am going to try one more time to post to this forum before I give up.  I have been cruizing the internet for patterns for the autograph star and also rectangle/squares modern quilts.

http://www.filminthefridge.com/2010/10/20/rectangle-squared-a-quilt-block-tutorial/

I like this idea because it is modern.  I could make the rectangles with the words in the middle.

http://www.quilterscache.com/A/AutographStarBlock.html

I found a couple variations for the autograph star blocks, too, which I also like.

I will have to work with these ideas.

(Oh, and I really do not like to applique so that idea will probably not be used.  My personal dislike.)

Yeah, it worked.  So I will post this other link I found for a different autograph star block.  I think I like this one better.

Jeanine

I first saw an autograph star in the quilter's cache.  You know that you can make the star block any size you want so that the center of the star is big enough for your words.

Yesterday was very productive;

Finish my top for the cuddle quilt for a beautiful young couple getting married in October.

Made my 46 square for FWS

and finish embroidering Mickey Mouse Ears on my Crazy Quilt Block for July.

And cook my husband a really good supper for our anniversary today.   Did it last night as I didn't think I would be able to get it done today with work and all.

Robin, Happy anniversary!  Which one is it?  Use your good china, light some candles and enjoy a romantic dinner this evening.  Wishing you many more of the same.
