used older material for the backing of a baby quilt. Had odor so machine washed with detergent & vinegar before put sandwhich together. As am quilting have noticed odor still there. Should I continue to quilt and then rewash and what in to get musty odor out? Is it beyond redemption?

I also had fabric with a musty odor given to me. I put it in a plastic bag with fabric softener sheets scattered through it. I let it set for a couple of weeks and it removed the odor.
Good idea Diane. I keep fabric softener sheets in our luggage between uses to keep them smelling nice.

I highly recommend "Smells Begone" - it is an odor eliminating spray sold at Big Lots. It has no scent of its own and is excellent at removing odors from just about anything. Great stuff.
