There is a group of us who have decided to get rid of our fear and try out FMQ. We are going to create sample sandwiches of muslin (or fabric of choice) about 10" square and FMQ for about 1/2 hour every day. At the end of the week we are going to share pics of our quilting.
More importantly, we are going to hold each other accountable and encourage each other along the way. Also, we will have other people who are doing the same thing we are and potentially dealing with the same difficulties we are; as well as, having someone to share our victories with.
We are going to post pics every Saturday on this thread so as to keep it contained.
This week we are going to work on simple e's and l's.
Currently there are five of us: Darla, Leslie, Terri, Rhonda and Marie.
Anyone else interested?

Rhonda, not to sound to dumb, but when you say e's and L's do you mean loops.. Barbara
Yay! The more, the merrier!
Hi Darla, welcome to the club. Nice to see some Indy girls on here ,I'm a former indy gal . so I hope you enjoy your time here..Barbara
Thanks, Barbara. I am a former Missouri girl. Both my daughters live in MO - one in Springfield and one in Kansas City. We returned to IN after a ten year stay in MO.
Sounds like a good idea. Maybe this will inspire me to finish some quilts alread started. :-0
Oh Darla, thats really funny, I've been in Missouri for ten years now...I really like it out here,Its a beautiful state. Execpt when we are having this nasty snow.and we have been hit pretty well this past two years. I have heard of Chesterton.but not real sure where its located in Indy. I use to live in Thorntown.I really loved the very small town live , and away from Walmart,LOL...Barbara
Barbara: Rhonda, not to sound to dumb, but when you say e's and L's do you mean loops.. Barbara
Yes Loops...here are some ideas from onine
I posted the last one to see the progression of course we probably won't add those fireworks LOL And of course I couldn't resist this one...
Rhonda this is just a great idea, I hesitate because I have so much going on right now that I don't know if I could commit to 1/2 hour per day. Do need the practice though so will probably follow along with you all.

Okay Rhonda ,I understand now, thanks barbara
Granny M:I hesitate because I have so much going on right now
Well you know what Granny...you know how much time you can commit to. If 1/2 hour is too much try 15 minutes. The goal is practice. Life does get in our way so do what you can. I think it is just important to practice, practice, practice. For me it is going to require some simple discipliine. I will probably have to give up some TV or computer time...probably TV time LOL
Hi all.
Here is my practice pc I did not too long ago.. maybe some things you could practice later.. I do one of these practice pcs after every top I make and before I do any quilting.. It help me get back into the groove of quilting..
Have fun all

Kelley,
These are amazing! And I can remember when you were afraid to try. Just look at what you have done!
Since everyone here is just starting, tell them what you started with. A simple meander?, loops?
And did you have to adjust the tension on your machine like I did, or was it not a problem?
