HELPPPPP, I received a 60 degree triangle with NO pattern & I don't know how to use it. Does anyone know where I can find some patterns to go with this ruler?
You will find it very useful and it will open you to endless designs. With this you can easily make equilateral triangles which fit together as easily as squares, just with less sides to sew! I have a fantastic book on it, which I will look for after work and then I can give you a title.
If you go to www.creativegridsusa.com and go to the free patterns section you will find some patterns for 60 degree triangles. Hope this helps.
THANKS Patti, I appreciate this so much. This will be my new adventure just 1 more thing added to my daily quilting. I just got done making a K size quilt for my daughter & I used the Sweet 16 pattern in shades of browns & a little greens game out so manly & rich in color. When I go to her house for deer hunting we're painting their bedrm to match the quilt, 1 more thing under my belt.
WOW Nana, I enjoyed that site & copied all of the patterns that I needed but is there more patterns out there? I suppose if I use just 1 basic pattern I can sew all sorts of strips together to get different effects. This would be nice in rich colors made out of flannel, I guess any pattern would help...What a life saver you are!
I googled 60 degree triangle patterns. There is a whole page of links. I just posted one of them. You might try googling and see what you find. Good luck.
They had a couple in Fons and Porter is I recall.
on Qnntv.com atvideos on demand go to Fons and porter and #408. Great tutorial, not set in seams on the tumbling blocks. Hmmm, I'm going to do it with some of my extra fabric...oh yes, after the pillow cases and binding the "White Christmas" quilt.

60 degree triangles and their use...
Looks like there are a lot of suggestions. I found the book. Trouble Free TriAngles - Quilt designs based on Rotary-cut 60 degree triangles, by Gayle Bong. It might be out of print, but I got a second hand copy from Amazon for less than $5. Many wonderful ideas and instructions. I was surprised to find that the triangles sewed together as easily as squares. If I can find a picture of my "ugly fabric quilt" I will post it. I used a pattern in this book for it.
well, didn't take me long to find it.
I love this quilt. It is so unusual.
