Thanks Gini and Nancy. The picture is of my DD and me at the Hillbilly Pot Luck night in Florida this past winter, hence the hats and scarves. Some of the members of Golden Acres put on a show and it was the best! One of the residents did a Patsy Cline impersonation and it was Hollywood worthy. Patsy Cline, 1st pic, group 2nd pic.

Welcome to the club, Lisa! Sounds like we took up quilting at about the same time. What a great retirement hobby, though my retirement savings might not last as long as I had anticipated with all the trips to the local quilt shop! LOL My nephew entered the Marines a year ago and is now thinking of making a career of it.

Are you ready to show us a picture of a quilt?

Our neighbor (20) just is going into the Marines. He will go to Nashville to be sworn in. So proud of him. I bet they will knock the "know it all" right out of him really quick, too.

New to QCA

Hi...my name is Lisa and I am new to QCA. I have been thinking about joining for some time...so decided to take the plunge this morning. I have sewed for many years. My Granny quilted and I always wanted to learn this art. She passed before I was able to learn from her. My husband and I retired three years ago and I finally took my first quilting class two years ago..and now I am hooked. Just by looking around this site a little bit today...I think I am hooked on this too. :--) My husband spent 21 years in the Marine Corps, so we have traveled all over the world. We moved back home to PA five years ago. We have a daughter 30, ( a wonderful son-in-law) a son 24 ....a beautiful grandaughter (5)and a handsome grandson (4), a spoiled rotten dog & cat. Hope this finds all happy and quilting.
