Scan the design into your computer, many new printers have print "poster" option, that is it will enlarge your design and spread it over 2, 4, 6 or more pages. Align the pages with the alignment marks. Print on tissue paper or water soluable paper.

I use the books currently that have the designs on them and copy them onto tracing paper and then pin it to the quilt and follow the lines or dashes or design.,

Thank you all for replying. I'want to copy design motif from page in "quilting motifs vol.8 never d id this style before. but you gave me a clue how to get started.

The gremlins are at work. I wanted to edit my post but Thea's pops up. Here's my addition. I scan my design to the computer, then adjust to larger or smaller, if desired, before printing. I print the design, glue it to card stock with spray adhesive and then cut the stencil.

I make stencils and then trace with children's fine tip washable markers. When quilt is done the washing removes the lines without a problem.

Ls - did you draw up a design and want to make an exact copy of it to put somewhere else on the quilt?

answer: 1) use gold paper - you can see through it and copy your design - spray baste with water soluble onto your quilt and sew through the paper

2) use vellum paper and scan your design into your computer - copy onto the vellum paper - sew through it

3) make a stencil of your design and cut through it but not all the way - leave spaces so the design can stay there - then use chalk like pounce and copy the design onto your quilt
