I need a stiletto. What is the best kind? I kind of cringe when I think about using metal, won't it poke through my fabric? And will wood be pointy enough? I've been using a bamboo skewer, but I'm ready to upgrade. I'm heading to the Houston Quilt show, and I should be able to get pretty much any kind there.

I use the bamboo skewers too. They are inexpensive and when I lay them down and can't find them I don't feel like I really lost alot......I am forever loosing them...LOL>
I have one I picked up at Celebrations in Nashua, NH. It is hand carved wood made by a woman. I will look to see what's on her card when I get home today and let you know. I like it because it is pointy but not lethal!
Sounds good Pat do they do mail order?
Ok here is the information on the lady who makes the wooden items
