I would like to make some quilts using pictures I have but am not sure what type of Printer to use to get the best results. I also would like to know if any specific type of printer fabrics that available for this would be better than the other. But the bottom line is "What type of printer should I use as I will need to purchase one." As I am new to all of this any other tips would be much appreciated. Thank-you, Barbara

As long as it is an ink jet printer you will be ok. Just don't use a laser printer....it messes up the fabric. I know they make several fabrics that are made just for printing pics. But it is kind of expensive. You can use a good quality white fabric and treat it with bubble jet prior to printing. Much cheaper.

Thanks Nana - I am really ready to take my quilting another level :)
Barbara,
click here for some great information and resources for printing on fabrics. They even have a column on choosing the right printer for you.
Hi Barbara...
I don't know if you still need info on your picture printing, but I'll throw my 2cents in. I use an HP currently I have an HP Photosmart Premium C309g-m; which I will be using shortly on a memory quilt for aunt. (44 pictures!). the link that was in another post, http://www.cjenkinscompany.com/; I was on not too long ago looking for new printing fabric. On my mom's, pictured here
I used Printed Treasures fabric. On my Aunts, I plan on using the one from C.Jenkins for HP...Hewlett Packard Miracle Fabric Sheets made especially for HP. They have a 99% permanency on the fabric.
one note for ya... practice printing your photos on regular paper first, until you have the color adjusted the way you want it. And it's not necessary to set your printer on the best setting. Everyday printing will do just fine.
Any questions, feel free to email me.
Have a super day!
