Nancy - those are great pictures!

Diane - You may not do the same for chocolate - but what about fabric?  ;)

Dorothy M:

Thanks for the welcome!  I am in Gardner and my bird feeder is in!!  lol  This happened a few years back and have been careful to not leave it out for the critters to destroy.  Last Summer my neighbor thought she saw a loose horse coming down the street but it was only a friendly moose!

Dorothy~

I've lived in MA all my life and I might have seen loose women coming down the street but I've never seen a loose moose. lol

You don't live too far from Marie. My DH and band plays at the Gardner Ale House periodically.

I might have to give that some extra thought. It would also depend how far a way a quilt shop is!

we have a moose that lives in our neighborhood in the winter.   sometimes she has the kid or kids from that year with her.  i was out shoveling the drive one day heard a noise and looked up.   the two were walking up the road, and were twenty feet from me looking my way.  i slowly backed up into my neighbors entryway, that was  a dead corner, and had no idea what to do if they charged.   all i had was a plastic shovel for a weapon/.   as we were staring at each other i realized that they didn't want to be blocked in any more than i did.    we watched each other for a while, with me being very still, then they ambled  down the road.   that was a good  adreniline rush.   i am careful in the winter now to look out for the moose (meese)  when i am out and about.     the young male last fall scattered some people that were getting too close with their picture taking.      gini

I showed the bear pics to my DH last night.  He had a really good laugh.  Thanks again for sharing Nancy.  They are such great pics.

And to think some people worry about squirrels on their feeders.  Pshaw!

Neighbors noticed an increasing awful smell coming from under their house.  Finally got a friend to crawl underneath to see if some animal had died under there.  It was a dead deer!  But not alone, the cougar that drug it there was also under the house!  Friend backed out quick, screaming, "get a gun!"  By the time they found the gun, the cougar was long gone.  They tied a rope around the cougar and drug it over the hill and dumped it in the ravine for the cougar.  My husband saw a cougar near there on his way home a couple weeks ago, and another neighbor has seen a mother cougar and two cubs in the same area.

So far no one is missing any pets.

Wow Patti, that's scary, I didn't know cougars would roam that close.

WOW Patti

That is getting a little too close when the cougar takes up residence under the house.   Hopefully they will learn to keep at least a little distance.  It would be truly awful if someone gets hurt or people start losing pets.

I'll stick to bears raiding the bird feeders, thank you very much, and you can have your cougars!  Oh my!
