I have been asked to make 7 memory bears.  I know that I need to charge for materials, time, etc., but don't want to over charge . . . they have been thru enough.  But at the same time .. . they are friends of a friend.  I made a purse for my friend out of her Dad's jeans.  She posted on Facebook and her friend asked about the bears.  Any help would be great!  Thanks!

Who are these memory bears relating to? Have you thought to use old shirts or dresses for the fabric. If you do that, I would only charge for the material that you stuff it with, and maybe some for your time. As you said it's not a direct friend and they did ask you to do this.

Thanks Zoetc49.   I am assuming they will be providing the outside material for the bears.  I should make sure, huh?  :-)  Just not sure how much of my time to charge . . .

I know it will take time, what do you think about $20.00-$30.00 a bear plus price of stuffing and they supply the fabrics and postage to send them out? If they are close by they can pick them up.

Yeah, thinking 25, unless they want a message embroidered on it, then 30.  :-)

I know , you still won't make money on it, but it will help cover your time. I am sure they will accept, and if not... you can go back to your quilting. Most people do not know how much time and money quilts and such cost. I am getting more and more picky who I make things for.
