Thank you for your comments, ladies. Since this was a poor detail shot, I might post the full quilt on 'Show & Tell.' Gini, the blocks were somewhat labor intensive for a new quilter. The hardest part was quilting it on a regular sewing machine. I like it though; it's a very pretty quilt pattern.

The Mexican Star pattern is from the same company that designed Thea's Atlantis.  They have a cute Tulip Bell pattern too.  I made a Christmas table runner from that pattern.  If I can find a photo I will post it.

That's right, Kathy--Southwind Designs--they have lots of nice looking dimensional patterns. In fact, when I finished my Mexican Star (don't know why it's called that), I sent for several more of their patterns with the greatest of intentions. But, you know how that goes (or doesn't). In fact, ever since 2004, when I discovered I enjoyed quilting, I have a ton of ideas and magazine photos in a 'to-do' stack that keeps growing. geez!

Yeah, I pick them up at quilt shows.  The thinking is - 'it's only $10-11 and I may not see that pattern again' and so the pile grows...

Here is a photo of my tulip bell runner.

Sorry if this is a double-post. Our service provider is having problems.

Wynnie, your pincushion is exactly like one my mom made for me! Well, not exactly because mine's different colors, but it's the same pattern! Cool!
