FLCircleGirl:

I have made a rule that if I am buying any more fabric, I have to get rid of at least 1.5 times as much as I buy so . . . Am insisting that I use fabrics from my stash for this project. I found these that I have the correct amounts of. They may not be my most favorite colorway, but it  can imagine them making a pretty graphic statement together. What does everyone else think?

Great fabric!!

Karla:
Since I need to make a QOV for my son-in-law, I've chosen these fabrics and plan on doing the MQ as a QOV.  I hope they will work.
Karla, I love the contrast of your fabrics and will be a beautiful QOV no matter what the pattern turns out to be.

For those wondering about fabrics, be sure you have good contrast between your fabrics as others have already said.  Here is a sample of what NOT to do - my MQ 9.  I am giving this to a grand-niece and hope she likes it better than I do.  My 2 lighter fabrics are too close in value and the pinwheels get lost.  Will look out my fabrics this weekend.  We have had a very busy trucking week and have a long trip to get calves for one farmer tomorrow.  Saturday will be busy, but not so long a trip.  This trucking cattle at our age is tiring!!  No chance to get up and move.  I usually buy fabrics in 4 to 7 yard pieces (of course on sale!) so should have stash to use.

Debi:

I have two choices.... maybe both????  :-D

Debi, did you try the purple in place of the brown in the second choice?  Looks like that would look good as well and gives you another choice to think about.

This is the patriotic fabric I was thinking of using (Fabric #1-Dark blue; Fabric #2-Biege w/American Flags; Fabric #3-Red/White/Blue Hearts as accent fabric

JBwilson - I have those same three fabrics and hadn't got in my stash yet but that's a great idea.

Marie. Those are gorgeous fabrics. Especially the purple and butterflies. Love them. I just can't come up with a combo that grabs me.

Well, this what I have from my stash, that's enough fabric for this.  Which should I go with?

The light and dark are the same, just different accent piece.

Ok, one more selection...

the dark is a solid blue, like sky blue.  Dark enough?

The last option with the blue and red is my favorite.

Circle girl, you maybe surprised at how it works out. I see potential. This mystery quilt will be different. I usually rely on the borders to tie it all together, but this one is prefabbed with them. So we will all see. I do like the potential!
