Thea:

Kris is sweet that way isn't she!  She is quick too!

Aw shucks Thea. You flatter me. Thanks.

Got a call from DH. He hit a deer on his way back from his parents. He's OK but car and deer weren't so lucky. He's about two hours from home so I'll be watching a movie and waiting for him

Thanks Spud. He's home safe and sound. Pretty bummed out over his car. I reminded him that the car can be fixed. We're very lucky.

Wow Kris, I am glad our husband is okay.  Friends of mine were hit by a deer last weekend, but they were on a motorcycle.  Bike is totaled, but they each just got very bad cases of road rash, because they had proper riding gear on including helmets.  The guy's helmet is totally destroyed on one side.   Deer can be deadly.     Ginny

Kris, I am glad hubby is okay - that is something that I haven't had to worry about here in OK but when I went up to MN last year saw quite a few - used to see them and be used to watching for them in NY - have to get back in that practice when I go up to MN for good - have to figure out where they normally run - that was easy in NY and I actually used to stop and talk to them... people probably thought I was that crazy lady on the side of the road...;)

Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE

Some of my family may have heard, but so far I’ve kept this to myself.  I tend to become a blubbering mess at these times, and usually cannot talk when I have to explain what has happened, especially when it is still so new.  After a very short battle with autoimmune hemolytic anemia, my dog Fannie passed away on Friday.  It was a shock even though I knew she was ill.  We had a vet appointment later that day for some follow up to the visit we had on Wednesday.    Anyone who knows me at all knows how much I love my dogs, and how it breaks my heart each time I lose one, no matter how it happens.  I lost my Tinkerbell two years ago and decided to let Fannie move up to #1 doggie position.  Now am left with only the cat, Bitty for company.  I’m afraid she’s never really liked me that much and I have to mug her for hugs.   Fannie was not only a beautiful girl with striking eyes, she was a lovely soul who was so amiable that she was never skunked even though she would always greet any critter passing the yard (unless you happened to be a squirrel).  She was also a very patient and, as it turns out playful aunty to all the foster dogs that have come through our lives.

Even though she kept a shyness with strangers I could pat my shoulder and say “closer” then she would move in for a hug.  Now I have no one to spoon and will miss her very much.

Thank you for listening.
