Roxana:

Who all would be interested in another Mystery Quilt? I think we have the ball rolling if we have enough interest....

Roxana, the MQs usually get a lot of interest. All we need is a pattern and a start date. It is usually announced in the newsletter. I'll be willing to help with the moderator duties.

hhhdmh:

How does the mystery quilt work?  I was not on QCA when the last one was done. Thanks

Instructions for parts of the quilt are given weekly or every two weeks depending on the complexity. You don't get the pattern up front so it's a leap of faith. The patterns aren't difficult but there might be a lot of cutting or sewing. There's no appliqué, curved piecing or y-seams. Usually the borders are up to the individual.

I use these mysteries as a way to experiment with fabrics/colours.

Thanks, Kris, I'll pass that along. I think together we can do it as soon as they get me a pattern and I can get it together! Should be fun!

Did anyone get this yesterday?  Maybe we could do this for the MQ.

Marie, That looks like a wonderful opportunity to make a lovely quilt and donate to a worthy cause.  They even offer a kit to purchase.  Hoping somehow this mystery quilt idea will become a reality.  Although I do have some MQ's that still need finishing.  Hmmmmm.......

This does sound intriguing. I'm a bit loaded down at the present with various things but I may consider it.

I would consider doing a MQ, but I would like to wait a few months, I have too much going on right now.

This would be fine for anyone who wants to participate but, as it starts next week, may not be right for us here on QCA.

Bear in mind that any mystery we do here has to be with approval from the designer. If the mystery is hosted on other sites besides QCA we can sew along and share photos but may not be able to provide additional instructions etc. We don't want to be stepping on anyone's toes or ruffling any feathers.

You're absolutely right, Kris.  Just another one of those times I spoke before I thought.   Just being Marie!

My kids keep trying to tell me that all the time but I forget.  LOL

I tried to get logged in for this quilt and it won't let me. I'd love to do a MQ. I enjoyed the last 3.

Don't apologise Marie. It's a great project with a cause. We've had problems in the past so I'm a bit cautious.

I really think we have a mystery quilt on QCA in our future. Admin has communicated with me and they are working on it. Especially now that more interest is popping up! Thanks everyone.
