Hi -- I'm new to this site, but not to quilting. I made my first quilt when I was 7 years old -- I fell in love with all things quilty after spending a day underneath the quilting bee frame at a church sewing circle (my dad was pastor). I loved the fabrics, the colors and textures, and most of all the creativity.
I've made several hundred quilts now, many of them very simple and utilitarian. I almost never use a pattern, and even if I start out following a plan, it's likely to change mid-course and turn into something entirely different.
My favorite parts of the process are the design/idea phase, and free motion quilting (I use a Bernina).
Looking forward to chats and discussions about our mutual addiction--

Welcome RST, from a former "Sound" resident. No longer live there due to family needs, but nice to see posts from familiar locations. Quilting-wise, you're way ahead of me. Wish I had started years ago, but at least I'm quilting now and loving it!
