I've changed to my free motion foot. But I can't find in my instruction book what stitch do I use? The straight stitches you use the 'J' foot. I just didn't want to do something wrong and break a needle or hurt my new machine.

Thanks,

I would use a straight stitch, middle position, and drop the feed dogs.  You may need to adjust the tension.  I've got an Ellegante and I put my top tension around 3.6.
