Permacore is a great thread for a great price.. I use it every day.. KingTut is also good but more expensive.. U will have a few different opinions on this Im afraid.. Some companies offer small spools for a trial of threads to see which one your machine likes...

I have the same machine, I use Aulifil 40wt almost exclusively.  It might seem expensive but I find one spool cane do up to a queen quilt, that is of course depending on the design.  My second choice is King Tut I love the variegated colors.  Almost any polyester thread works but I much prefer cotton.  King Tut has more lint than Aurifil but if you clean and oil bobbin area whenever you change bobbins I odd not find it much of a problem.

I have used King Tut, Aurifil & a polyester (Maxi Lock, I think) on mine, all recommended by the shop owner where I bought my machine - she has a Crown Jewel as well,  She said to stay away from Sulky & Gutermann - too many problems with those.
