Hi, my name is Nadia.  I am from San Rafael, California.  I am planning to hand quilt a bed sized quilt (queen), but am not sure what thimble to buy.  I am thinking of getting a sterling silver one from TJ Lane.  Have you heard of "Thimblesetc.com".  Is that a good place to get a thimble?  I do not want to go with leather, since I heard that you get poked eventually when it wears thru.  Thanx for any advice on thimbles--best regards, Nadia

I like the ones with a lip on the top.  Other than that, I use the inexpensive ones you can get anywhere

I also use the inexpensive ones. I do have a leather one too, I think you can use them for a long time before they wear out.

What ever you buy, make sure it is the right size or it is awful to use.
