A friend and I just signed up for the bus to Sew Expo in Puyallup on February 28th. We haven't decided what classes we will take yet but want to leave lots of time for that HUGE trade floor. (256 vendors)
Our bus pulls in about 8:45 am and departs for home at 6pm. Expo actually runs for four days.
Anyone else from around the Pacific Northwest planning to attend?
In the beautiful Pacific Northwest!
I went to one in Mpls last year. It was fun even though much of the featured sewing was garment making and other needle arts with quilting being only a small part. I didn't go this year as I felt it was the kind of thing a person might take in every 5 years or so. That is where I saw Judy E's mini log cabin on display.

Looking through the catalog, that's what I noticed. This year there seems to be fewer quilting classes. But we found a couple we will take. One by Eleanor Burns and one by Marti Mtichell on strips and scraps. I wanted to take one by Nancy Zieman, Quiting with Curves, but it's at 8:30 am and our bus doesn't get there until about then.
I just found out this is happening. I'd love to go!
Every year I think about it, but It always comes at a time of the year where we are more budget conscious and I can't quite justify going.
Meg, you really should go. You don't have to take classes, you can just wander the awesine trade floor. I believe Kath (Quiltless) is also going. I'd say we try to meet up for lunch or something but I'm not sure what time we'll find someplace to eat. It will depend on the classes we can get into, when we get hungry and what place looks good.
We're taking a bus from the Bellingham Quality Sewing Center. Lordy, it leaves at 6:15 AM. A couple years ago my friend won one of the door prizes, a Bernina Serger. This year, I'd settle for either the Pfaff Performance 5.0 or the Viking Topaz 30. I ain't picky. LOL
Good luck, Judy! I remember waiting around at the end of the day for that drawing. Needless to say, I went home empty-handed.
I don't know which day I'm going. I usually go with two of my cousins and they pick the day.
