Pace Abbott Posted: Thu, Dec 26 2013 8:57 PM

Hey everyone,

My name is Pace Abbott I am a 30 year old single dad from Mesquite Nevada I just started sewing / quilting my first blanket or quilt I'm not sure which to call it was denim hippopotamus and my second one which I just delivered to be quilted today is a giraffe quilt for my daughter

Yes it is only my second quilt or attempt at sewing anything and yesi did it all myself ... everyone has asked me ifi really did it myself the answer is yes to everything except a little bit of pressing I did everything from picking fabric cutting design and sewing minus the quilting which I don't have the rapt rent for yet. But This is me I hope to do many quilts and share them here with everyone!

I am also looking into buying an innova long arm and have this as a means to help me get funded please check out!

I love the quilt!  I started my quilting by making gifts for kids as well.  I still make gifts for kids!

Karla,

I lived 17 years in Northwest Nevada, most of it in Fallon.  I still have a son living in the area.  When I go down, I love to visit the quilt stores in Fallon.  Where do you recommend shopping?  I find new fabrics/ideas every time I shop in Fallon.

We have a new quilt/fabric shop here in Fernley, called the A Stitch of Country.   The people are super friendly and helpful.  They tell me that I am keeping them in business with all of my fabric purchases.  When you come to town again, You should make sure to stop by this shop...it is the best.

Hi Pace, great giraffe.

If I ever get a long arm, it would be an innova.

Pace,

nice meeting you and I like your giraffe quilt.  You did great.  My retired

husband just sewed his first king size quilt, all by himself and we had it quilted in a shop.    He started sewing when I had a problem with my sewing machine.  He fixed it and a couple of days he was still at my sewing machine.  When I wanted my machine back, he told me that it was his machine.  We went and bought him his own sewing machine.  That's how it started.  :-)
