I found my new machine. After a long search and trying to figure out what brand was the best I decided on a Janome 6600. I am thrilled with the machine. I wish I would have done this months ago. I absolutely love it so far. I have only had it since Saturday and have been playing around with it learning and seeing what it can do. If anyone has the same machine and have any tips you would care to share I would love to hear them! Have already completed a quilt with it and it looks great, thanks all! Elizabeth
Elizabeth, good luck with your new machine and enjoy the ride! I'm a Bernina gal but there is a machine out there for every quilter. I know a lot of Janome owners that love their machines.

Elisabeth, the 6600, is a great machine, I had it and loved it wish I had kept it but traded up to a bigger Janome
Congrats on your new machine. I too am a Janome gal and wish, like Leslie, that I had kept my 6600. Loved it a lot. Did you get the extra throat plate to use when you are piecing that prevents the machine from sucking the fabric down in the needle hole? I found that to be very useful when I was piecing. Have fun with your new baby.
congratulations. Enjoy it.

I have the 6600 and really like it, too. I also have a Bernina that I've owned for many years and thought I'd never own any other brand until the dealer moved 50 miles away. Very inconvenient for service.
I considered getting the throat plate for piecing on the 6600 but have found that I don't have a problem with the fabric getting pulled down. Maybe the needle size makes a difference. I did buy the bobbin case for free motion quilting and it really helps.
Congrats on your purchase, enjoy! I had the 6600 and traded for the 7700, don't know why I traded but love them both. My BFF bought the 6600 from my dealer so she's in good hands.
I have the 6600. Made about 4 quilts so far using it. I like the bobbin size on it. Have fun with yours.

Congrats on the new machine. I have the Janome 7700 that I use for most all of my FMQ because of the large throat space. I also have a Pfaff Creative Sensations that I love for piecing and embroidery. And I won't even begin to count all the vintage machines I own but I think it is about 9 or 10 now. And I actually love to pull one of those to piece on every now and then. The antiques have some of the prettiest straight stitches,
HELLO,Elizabeth just joined today and am very excited. I also own Janome 6600 for about 2 years and a Janome 11000 embroidery machine Love them both.
How about some pic's of your projects?
Congtratulations and enjoy!
I, too, bought a machine today, but nothing like the 6600. Maybe someday...
I purchased a Necchi QS60, which is the exact same model as the Janome 6300. It's the next logical step for me.
I know you're going to love the accufeed. The dealer I purchased my machine from had a floor model of the 8900 and offered it to me for $2400.00. I almost swooned. It was still too pricey for my budget right now, but boy, was I tempted.
I've been checking out machines and keep going back to the Janome 6600. Have a few other bills to catch up on, but I'm pretty sure I'll get one sooner or later
