Hi Gang,  Mary says thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.  Phil is prepped and will be going into surgery soon.  I am here and will stay until he is out of surgery.  We will keep you posted.

Phil did very well. They usually keep them in ICU for 24 hours after then end of surgery, which for him was 10 pm. This morning he walked, with help and a walker, about 25 feet to his regular room where he will be until he comes home. Then he promptly sent me home to rest. I had stayed all night (they had recliners for the family members in ICU waiting room) and sent Diana home due to the coming ice and snow before dark. I also told Scott to stay home because he has really bad tires.

Thank you, Diana, for being with me for several hours. I cannot begin to tell you how much that meant to me. Also, for taking my grandson's quilt home with you to finish. With this broken collar bone, I'll be doing well to finish knitting his blanket by Christmas.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. Today is a weepy day, not out of sorrow, but out of happiness and relief. I was so stressed out about this surgery but held it together (for the most part) until afterwards. Used to do that with the boys and their broken bones and stitches. Only lost it when the crisis was over. What's that all about? lol

Now I am going to go put jammies on and get in bed to rest. Tomorrow I will return to the hospital to be with Phil unless the nurses call me back there before.

God bless you all and have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Mary I'm so happy that's all behind you and Phil and pray his recovery will go as well.  The tears were from relief, you had to stay strong during the crisis.  God Bless you both and have a wonderful Thanksgiving as well.  (((((HUGS)))))

Mary, I am so glad to hear that everything went well for both of you during Phil's surgery.  It was so good of Diana to be able to spend some time with you during the wait.  Now just relax and take it one day at a time. Happy thanksgiving to the both of you.     Ginny

Mary, so glad to hear the surgery went well.  Maybe you can now relax and concentrate on getting yourself recharged.
