Hi,

I am new to QCA and still considered a newvbie to quilting.  I have made 3 quilts and several table runners and pot holders.  Everything I have done has been fairly simple and I do free motion machine quilting (which I am still learning).  I am hoping to learn a lot more from everyone on this site.

Welcome Mary...a great site when it's working, but best of all it's full of fantabulous quilters who are willing to help and encourage with everything quilting (and some not so quilting things, too).

Welcome Mary!  My goodness we have a lot of Texans.  I haven't heard of the town of Telephone.  What part of the state are you in?

I think even three quilts defines you as a quilter, so you must be enjoying the process.  Feel free to post any questions you may have.  There are a lot of talented sewers here!

Nancy

Telephone is a small town about 100 mile north east of Dallas.  We are by the Red River and as a crow flies only about 3 miles from the Oklahoma border.  I do love quilting and have made most of my designs myself.  I want to be able to do some of traditional quilt designs and also improve my free motion quilting.

good morning Mary, welcome to QCA a world of quilters. MNNancy is right there are a ton of Texans here, but hey we are the BIG state..

Check out all the groups here, there are so many to look through, so pick what you're interested in learning more about, many of the members belong to the Fabric Swap group, the participants are not only eager to move their fabrics around, but also have great fun ideas for doing so.
Another fun and busy group is the mystery quilters. Doing a mystery quilt is so fun and exciting, directed by Nana who comes up with a new mystery at least once a year. Fun to see how one pattern can be so very different with fabric choices. Also a great media section there.

Everyone is willing to help with project ideas and sewing tips & techniques, I am sure you will find a wonderful community of new as well as seasoned quilters and just down right good old gals who are super crafty.

The media section is another place to start to see what happy people are doing. Have fun and ask all the questions you have, there will be a plethora of information to read.

Carylanne, doing a mystery quilt is the height of bothersome to anyone with any amount of control issues. I would never do one but I have several friends who thrive on them. Different strokes I guess.

Welcome Mary. Always room for another quilters two bits!
