For all of you in the Kansas City metro area, I have found a gem of a guy who works on sewing machines and refurbishes and sells a lot of old steel gear machines.  I have bought two from him and they are just awesome.

Right now he has a 328K Singer steel gear machine for sale for $85.  It takes tams and he only has one tam for the machine which is a zigzag stitch. He says it sews beautifully.   He also has a black featherweight machine in the case for sale.  Not sure of the price on that one.

If anyone is interested or needs some machine work done, PM me and I'll give you his phone number.  He lives in Belton, MO which is easily accessed from just about anywhere in the area.

Phyllis, what is a tam?  I once had a machine that used cams for decorative stitches.  Is that what you mean?

Oh, I miss my 1969 Singer with cams.  I had to leave it at my old house because we had built it in to a permanent counter, and anything built-in goes with a home sale.  That was such a reliable machine!
