I know we don't have one here on QCA, but does anyone know of any that exist?  Maybe through your LQS or something?  My birthday is on New Year's Eve and it's always a big party with lots of friends, but for once, I think I'd like to do something peaceful and relaxing for myself.  I know that to do anything quiet, I'll have to get out of town (lest I get dragged to someone's party or coerced into throwing one of my own).  Any ideas?

I don't know of any, but gosh, that does sound like a great way to ring in a new year and celebrate yourself. Good luck!

Hi Carolyn,  My Mom's birthday was also on new year's eve.  She has been gone over seven years and I miss her every day.  I'm about a six hour drive from Raleigh so come on over.  We can do a mini retreat for a few days.  I have a whole apartment for a quilt studio.

Shoot, sure wish I lived closer!  I would never turn down an invite to quilt with Diana in her studio!  Her stash is legendary, and she has such a fun personality!

A whole apartment?!  Wow - that sounds awesome.  I consider myself lucky to have half of a spare bedroom!  Let me see what my darling husband thinks of this idea...  :)

This would be a really fun way to bring in the new year.  And I might actually then stay awake til midnight. I don't think I can convince my husband to let me have this party.  Maybe at the neighbor's house.

I have enough room for two besides me.  It would make for a very small retreat.  There is a queen bed in bedroom and a queen sleeper sofa.  There is a kitchen table that extends to hold two machines.  I have everything else.  I even have extra sewing machines....lol    I love to have company for sewing fun.

Carolyn

What fun you would have at Diana's.  Her apartment is fantastic and take extra bags to embezzle some of her stash.  She will never miss it....LOL>

Thanks Nana.  You should know about embezzling my fabric.  Lol  Sad thing is, I probably wouldn't know it was missing.

Gini,  If you didn't show it all to me, I still don't know it. LOL.
