Oh my, Jacy that animal looks rather tame, like maybe someone has offered her a treat before.    Ginny

Jacy:

Here's a view of Mt Hood we saw on our way home.

Jacy, in the foreground of these pictures is Willamette Falls and Oregon City...my hometown...with Mt. Hood in the distance!

Great Pics Jacy! Tell your DH that he's NUTS. I'd prefer to tangle with one of our resident Grizzlies rather then mess with a Moose. The boys offered compliments on the great backyard gym....

Jacy, great photos, but what is DH doing out there with the moose?  I thought momma mooses could be dangerous.

We are in Bismarck, North Dakota for the night.  Home tomorrow.

Snowbird Quilter:
Robin being the excellent driver got us home safe and sound around four this afternoon.

gini:
i'm home.    it's coooold in here, trying to warm up.

Karla:
I'm home too...got here about 10:30 after several stops along the way.

I'm happy you all made it home safely.

I made it to Maine and after being fed and washed I'm now in bed aching everywhere. My right knee and both ankles and feet are quite swollen. Feet up and kitty by my side. I'm content. Thanks all (especially Patti) for a lovely week.

Ginny:
I watched it longingly while I tried to recuperate from all of the nasty treatments that I went thru this past week.

Ginny,

I'm glad your test results showed nothing serious. What a scare you had afterward. I hope you're on the mend and that the retreat took your mind off even for a short while.

Well gang, change of flights.  I take red eye out of Portland at 11 tonight to Houston, then on to Knoxville tomorrow morning.  Two hour layover in Houston so won't be rushed between gates.  Best part of the whole deal is FIRST CLASS all the way on their dime.

Sorry you got stuck again but I'm glad you getting the first class treatment. First class is sooo cool.

Diana:
Nana is on a different flight to Dulles via Denver.  She may miss her connecting flight to Roanoke.

I hope that didn't happen.

This is the last day at Beachcomber's Haven for myself, Jan and our DH's.  We spent the day walking...this morning to Drift Creek Falls and the afternoon on the beach.  Another glorious day on the Coast...you could not ask for any better October weather!!!

This is our first view of Drift Creek Bridge (a  240' long suspension bridge about 100' high):

This is a picture of Drift Creek Falls from the middle of the bridge:

After crossing the suspension bridge, this view is looking back at the bridge and the falls in the background:

Now this picture is from the bridge, looking down at the falls.  If you look at the group of people standing together on the other side of the creek, Jan is in a pink jacket and Will has on a white hat (you may need to zoom in):

This is a picture of Drift Creek before it gets to the falls:

A lovely picture of Deer Fern and Oxalis (three-leaf clover):

Our last stops of the morning were at the Drift Creek Covered Bridge which has been re-constructed:

Surf was up again a little bit this afternoon:

We are starting to pack up to leave tomorrow, but plan to have one more walk on the beach in the morning before we drive back to the Portland, OR area.

This is just too good to miss!!

Got a call from Nana. She is stranded in Denver for the night.  Her next flight is at 8 am tomorrow morning.  She was surprised that I'm still sitting in Portland Airport.  We 're going to see who gets home last.  I'm pretty sure she will win. Or lose, according to your perspective.

I hate flying.  Sorry you are having problems getting home, Diana and Nana, though first class sounds like fun, Diana!
