I'm new to this club and wanted to introduce myself. I'm Sarah from Grand Rapids, Michigan -- the mitten!! :)
I love to quilt and love learning new things! I'm really wanting to learn more on Free Motion Quilting on my domestic machine! Any advice will be so appreciated!
I'm so excited to be a part of this club, and hope to meet some new fellow quilters!!

Well, welcome Sarah Scott from Grand Rapids, Michigan! I'll bet, like me, you are starting to look at quilting projects for the long winter ahead. So glad to have you join us here at QCA!
I'll bet you would thoroughly enjoy the classes at Craftsy.com! There are a number of free motion classes available there. Get yourself registered at the site, and then you may want to wait a bit for sales announcments. I usually wait for a class to drop to $29, and sometimes even $19, before I sign up.

Welcome Sarah :)
I'm from Muskegon but currently living in Las Vegas. We are in the process of moving back for my husband's job. I spent a lot of time in Grand Rapids and probably will again when I get back.
Hi and welcome Sarah, nice to have you join us, enjoy!
Hi Sarah, welcome to the group. I like two sites for free motion quilting. Daystyledesigns by Leah day and the inbox jaunt blogspot.

Welcome Sarah. You will love it here. Everyone here is kind and friendly. I start FMQ from watching youtube. I also finally decided to take a class. It was all day and it was wonderful. She told us to practice everyday for 20 minutes at least for 21 days. Of course I had to prove her wrong so I did exactly what she told me and guess what. She was right. It was like a light bulb moment. I get a lot of information from youtube as I live in a very small town and don't have a lot of access to LQS. Again, welcome.
Georgetown CA I'd Rather Be Quilting
Grand Rapids, been there several times. My DH and I love to go to Michigan. Contemplated moving there but decided it wasn't far enough away from Illinois! LOL

Oh, and welcome Sarah. 😃
Maggie, you are a hoot, what's in Illinois that is so scary?
Don't forget the "fear no more, free motion quilting group" When you go to it and hit discussions, it will look like there isn't much there. But click on sorting and filtering and set it to go back a year, and there will be lots to see. It was started by our dear Barbara, who is recuperating now. I think there were new techniques or patterns posted monthly. If you look at what she did, you can see the amazing progress in just one year.
This is a wonderful group to join, I've been a member less than a year, and these ladies with all their wonderful experience are so helpful...it truly becomes like a family!!! Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!! Happy quilting...oh, and don't forget to post pictures, we all love to share and it will inspire new ideas :)!
