Please keep me in your prayers. I finally got news yesterday when my dr's office called and said the insurance co has approved my surgery.  Hallalujah! (however it's spelled!)

So, Sep 26 at 9:30 am I'll be having back surgery. I'll be in the hospital 3-4 days and then recuperate at home for 6-8 weeks.

Dr will be making two incisions - one in the front, just to the side of my belly button, he'll go in to the ruptured disc, clean it out and then fuse a few of the discs together.  then he'll go in from the back and fix the stenosis area, where my spinal cord is being pinched on two sides of one vertebrae.   I 'll have to wear this brace, goes around my middle, pretty much all the time.  dreading that part, not sure how I'll be able to sleep in it or if I have to.  got to remember to ask that.

so, only 19 days till my back pain ends and recovery begins. He told me the recovery pain will be worse than it was from my cervical surgery but that one was very very minor, so I'm not too worried.    most discomfort came from wearing the brace. certainly couldn't be worse that my rotator cuff or foot surgery!

got really only one thing to finish before and that's the border on the RR, everything else is due after Oct.

"I'm just a poor soul who's intentions are good.   Oh, Lord, Please don't let me be misunderstood."

Debbie, sounds like your body has been getting it's fair share of repair.  Know I will be remembering you in my T & P's for wisdom for the doctors and medical staff and peace of mind for you, a successful outcome from surgery, freedom from pain, and a short easy recovery.  Hang in there.  Sometimes the waiting is the worst thing.

Debbie, I will be praying for you.  I have been through the stenosis part  with my back and also the fusion part in a following surgery.  It is painful immediately after the surgery, but quickly improves. I will pray for successful surgery-- and follow Drs orders.      Ginny

I'll be praying for you Debbie.  Praying that it goes as well as my husband's back surgery.  From 10 years of pain to no pain!

Will be praying. My DH had this surgery. It is not fun. His pain never totally went away. Hope for the best, but lean on God for the worst.

Debbie

I know that you will be glad to get rid of the back pain.   The biggest reason the recovery will  be worse is that they are going thru the belly.   They have to move stuff out of the way which makes your tummy sore.  Hope the brace won't be too bad.  Prayers and hugs coming your way.
