I am looking for advise on machine quilting embroidered quilt tops. Some have quilting lines that covers the whole square while others have a quilting line around the edge of an 8x8 square of each picture. I am thinking this might be to large an area to leave un-quilted. The pictures are to narrow to quilt around such as a jump rope.  I have not found any information on this subject on line. Any advise would be appreciated.

Darlene

It will partly depend on the batting you use.   Some battings can be quilted up to 10 inches apart.

I found some sweet old children's embroidered blocks. I made them up into a quilt.  I quilted around each design, and stipples in between.  If the design had too large an area left open, I went back and added some interior quilting., whatever fit the design.   I will try to remember to get a picture of it next week.

I haven't embroidered a quilt yet that sounds interesting.
