I'm trying this again.

I would like to obtain permission to enter my Mystery 9 quilt in a Quilt show in June, and a couple of fairs this fall. Nana, is there anyway to do this?

Than-you,

Paula aka callie

I'm not sure if Nana is even on QCA any longer. But I don't think you need permission to enter a quilt in a show that is made from someone else's pattern.

Although you don't need her permission to enter the quilt my suggestion would be to give credit to the designer on your label.

Hello All! This is your friendly new admin here!

Please read my first Admin Blog post to find out about the new mystery quilt. I am trying something different-a bit of a contest! I would like one of the members of QCA to design the mystery quilt. If you have a design you would like to submit, please DM me the design. I will be choosing one lucky designer and we will be working together to roll out the mystery quilt in September. Read the full information here: http://www.quiltersclubofamerica.com/blogs/admin/archive/2014/05/30/the-1st-admin-post.aspx

I really need all your help with this to make it work! Thank you everyone!

I'm not sure if Nana is even on QCA any longer. But I don't think you need permission to enter a quilt in a show that is made from someone else's pattern.

It truly depends on the quilt show - it is the nice thing to do to put on your label - the pattern name and author and all that pertinent information - as a person who had someone else enter a quilt that I made as their own I was very much hurt and offended for not getting the credit.  When I entered a quilt pattern by Beth Ferrier I wrote her and asked her permission to enter it - of course, I was entering in the big Houston show and I do believe that you are supposed to do this for that and the bigger quilt shows.  It was on my entrance paperwork - so you just have to check with the quilt show - or look at the paperwork.
