Being the new kid on the block (New to the group) I will have to watch and try and figure out how to sign up for the mystery quilt.  Sounds like a lot of fun especially on here.

Nana,

Thanks for letting me know about the Tube method for HST.

Donna,

Thank you for posting the video link!  I'll have to do a practice set and see if this method works for me.  If it works then maybe I will try to join in MQ9.  Nana always leads such neat MQ projects I really hate to not try to do them.

You will find the mystery quilt 9 workshop on the left hand side of your home page once the first step is posted on Sept 6,   Also there will be a group opened for questions and answers.  I will try to have the group open and ready a few days before the 6th so that people can join and get ready to go.

I'll be gone September 4-7 but I plan to do it. Just not sure if I'll have internet access while I am away! ... Thanks, Nana, for all your work.

Can't remember who it was, but someone mentioned tube quilting and that Jenny at MSQC had a tutorial on it.  I did one and I fell in love with the method, but I have been using it with jelly rolls, Quick and stunning results.  Now that I know there is a ruler for doing larger hsts, I think that I may have to invest in that ruler.   Ginny

Ginny - all of those tube squares end up on the bias. Did you have any problems with distortion when sewing them together? I tend to "like
 the straight of the goods.

It wasn't a problem at all.  I made quite a few table runners with them.  It was great.   Ginny

I haven't had any problems with the bias.   I am a little more careful when I press them open but other than that they have been easy to work with.

okay so I bought the ruler but I found it a few bucks cheaper on amazon. I hope it arrives on the first date of the shipping estimate rather then the later date though.

Also , love Nana's MQ as well. Nana you said that it might not work out being scrappy. I was wondering how many different fabrics/colors are we talking. I would like to start thinking about my color options because it is oh so hard to choice out of so many wonderful colors and prints.

My son is in town but I am hoping to be able to wrap up most of MQ8 this weekend

So three fabrics. Good to know. I will have to be patient...not my strongest quality.... And wait. It's not like I don't have other things to do, but I really love those mystery quilts.

I think the fabric requirements will be posted Sept 6th, that's only 7 more days.
