They've moved the venue this year...  Anyone out there going?  Maybe we can all meet up at some point?  I'm planning to go on Saturday.

Frances, wouldn't it be fun to surprise Debbie there?!  I'm not over the pond, but it's a bit far for me to drive, as well.  Hot in San Antonio this time of year, too.  Have fun, Debbie!

OH YES, it's been hot but I don't think we're going over 100 today!

I do love surprises!  You could BOTH surprise me!  That'd be fun   :o)

Bev, maybe we can have lunch or just poke about together!

Anyone else out there going to be at the quilt show this weekend?

Hi Frances!

I did go to the quilt show and other than the fact that I got to visit with Beve for a little while and a friend from work, it was your basic quilt show but this time with poor lighting and less room. There were even 2 all leather quilts.  I hope they'll go back to the old venue last year but there were complications this year that prevented it.  I spent less than $10 at the vendors but I think that's because I was all shopped out during the trip to and from the Smokey Mtn retreat!  I took some time to talk to a lady who runs a retreat facility in Texas and she'd be thrilled to have us come stay in the spring when the wild flowers are blooming!  April is best for that... I wonder if anyone would be interested.  She charges $75/day if you bring your own food but there's room for at least 30 people or more!  www.valleyranchretreat.com   It's not real close to any of the big cities (San Antonio 2+ hours) so any sight seeing would take a day away from sewing.

Here are a few quilts that caught my eye...

Similar but different...

All those little pieces!

Leather.

More leather.

Love this one!

Not sure why, but this is on my list of things to do...

Check out the quilting!

Love the pictures ! I think it was the 9th quilt down that made me dizzy !! Another friend has on her list to do the stamp quilt too. I guess it is a good way to use up scraps?

Debbie

Thanks for the virtual quilt show.  Some really beautiful quilts and it seems a lot with little bitty pieces.   I found the leather quilts really interesting.  I bet those were really difficult to sew.
