CC... Sprout and my granddaughter share the same birthday! She turned TWO yesterday as well!

Wow, Donna, the house and the fridge today?!

Karla, you are on a roll with the LUS. You rock!

Today, I finished the stocking for the kids that the Quilt Guild is sponsoring. Now to move on to the next grandchild's birthday blanket. His birthday is Tuesday! That's what I'll do all weekend! Wish me luck.

Here are the stockings:

Roxana, the stockings are great.  Good luck with the birthday blanket.

As for the LUS, I have 8 rows put together, only 3 more to go.  I think I have 29 more blocks to make as I have 4 of the "I" blocks made and hope to get the current assignment done and started on the next one sometime over the weekend.  At least I hope I'll have the next assignment done in time to post it with the examples.

chocake2:

We celebrated Sprout's 2nd birthday yesterday. His favorite toys?? Bossman's big belly ( mountain climbing it , using it for a great trampoline, and of course, snuggling on it when he'd had enough exercise) and the big box Grandma's gift came it. LOL  He finger-painted with his cake frosting and generally had himself a grand time.

Happy belated birthday Sprout! My DS2 is 30 today. It sometimes feels like I just blinked and the boys went from being kids playing around to dully independent adults with a life of their own!

Elaine, I've always wanted to work at a LQS, closest one to me is about 10 miles away.

Happy birthday to Sprout, time fly's.

I hope everyone has a great Mothers Day.

Thanks for the comments on the stockings. They were fun to do and for such a worthy cause. If only the quilts would go that quickly! ... Dtill working on that easy one for my foster grandson. Should be working now but I think I'd rather read what all everyone has had to say!

Babysitting 4 out of 5 grands today (well the 15 year old certainly doesn't think it is babysitting), and the 21-month old has run me ragged.  Big wind and dust/sand storm so I couldn't even send them outside.  Needless to say I didn't get much sewing done.  They are all at home with their parents now, and I've got a meatloaf in the oven.  One LUS block done and about to start on another one.  Eight rows completed on the LUS...whoopee...only 28 more blocks to go.

Love the stockings Roxanna.

Today I spent the day at the HMQS quilting show in SLC.  I am pooped. Such amazing quilt designs I can only dream of making one day.   I tried all the long arms and my favorite was the HQ18 Avante runner up being the Baby Loc Crown Jewel.  The Avante was so smooth it was easy on my hands.  The Baby Loc was the next smoothest to operate.  The Gammil's were huge and intimidating.  The APQS Millie & Freddie vibrated so bad it cramped my hands for such an expensive machine.  The Juki which was the one I thought  I wanted was antiquated felt like I had muscle spasms with that machine.  Of course I got some fabric and a quilt kit.

Mamagshouse, this is very interesting information about the various longarms! Glad you were able to try so many of them in one place and share your findings! Good job, and glad you got to go to the show.

I have such bad arthritis in my hands so if your going to invest in a long arm it better be comfortable to use.  I'm glad I got to go cause I would never have the opportunity to test drive all the different types of machines.  It was fun.

At this time, I have no desire for a longarm. Would need to make a LOT more quilts before it would ever be feasible, if even then. I also have a lot of arthritis in my hands. If a longarm were in my life, it would definitely have to run smoothly and put minimal strain on my hands. I hope you're able to have one someday if it's on your "wish list".
