Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!

I am hosting my family, well, most of them only 18.  There could have been 13 more if everyone could come!  :-)

Got the mashed potatoes done & in the crock pot, the turkey breast is in the roaster.  Will make up the stuffing and corn later.

Ihope everyone had peaceful thanksgiving.  I am definitely tuckered out.  Thought I'd tell everyone what I started I told DH this one would likely take me three years to complete... Imust be zany to even attempt it.  I started on my cross stitch quilt the blocks are about 18" and I have 42 of them to do.  I probably will never finish it but I'm doing it while DH watches tv.  This week have some business to do with inlaws other than that I'm planning on finishing my mq9.... at least thats my plan.

we almost had a perfect thanksgiving, but my dear irascible dad decided to add some drama to the end of our day.  now mom is fretting away and worried her sister and BIL aren't gong to speak to her again and she's afraid they won't be welcome at christmas eve.  SIGH.   i love him and he was right in his statements, but was a bad boy to voice them to his BIL.    my cousin needs to come clean about his transgressions to his folks and then perhaps my dad would let it go.  there was a quite  exuberant employment of the "f" word for a brief bit before the auntie and uncle stormed out.   what would we do without relatives.

Happy belated Thanksgiving everyone. If anyone is interested....Bonnie Hunter is starting her 2013 Mystery quilt and step one is up this morning. I am gonna do this one.  And it will be my first Mystery. :) She uses up scraps and I really need to get rid of some.

Oh my, Gini.  Aren't families fun?  Especially when things don't necessarily fall on deaf ears.  I am truly sorry that the day ended badly.  Hopefully, your Aunt and Uncle can just consider the source and know how irascible your Daddy can be and get it all behind them before Christmas.    Ginny

We had the perfect Thanksgiving.  Just DH and me.  No family within 800 miles so no drop-ins either.

Gini, it all adds to the wide diversity in families. My Dad bless him nearly got my brother thrown out of a restaurant by saying in an extremely loud voice "look at the state of that" towards a girl who my brother admitted did look a state but sometimes these things need thinking not saying out loud. They say out of the mouth of babes maybe should add old men too!!! lol

We had a good long sleep and have spent today indoors in the warm. I have done 2 loads of laundry too. Luckily not too much will need ironing!

The change in temperature is very noticeable! I have loads of quilting magazines to flick through and we are playing catchup with TV that we have recorded.

Tomorrow DH will play golf and I will do a supermarket shop. How exciting.

Hope you have got some bargains today if you have been chasing any,

xx

Boy, that sounds like most of our family get togethers (at least the ones on DH's side of the family).  Thank goodness yesterday was peaceful as it was only us and the two girls' families.  It was noisy with the kids, but peaceful...no drama this year.

Ah, Gini,

I learned not to say everything I was thinking.  So, I would just close my mouth and say nothing.  Now, people criticize me about being so quiet or not being social.  I smile at them, but think to myself they don't want to hear what I'd have to say!!

I'll join your club and fit right in. Lately I've received compliments from several people after I have spoken up. If I had thought about it first I would never have spoken up and joined the "too afraid to express myself" club that seems to be very dominant in the circles I frequent. As a result there is serious senior bullying happening. I'm beginning to think it is every bit as prevalent as the kid's bullying that hits the media.

Ahh, not so Quiltless,  I enjoy hearing what you have to say.  You have knowledge and speak eloquently.   Ginny
