This is the table runner   I made my friend that lives in Sarasota we managed to get together on Sunday for the afternoon we haven't seen each other for 3 years.

We are sat at Tampa airport waiting to board our flight home.we have had a great holiday in Florida the weather had been so warm and generally sunny. Key West was fabulous and I learnt to snorkel in the Gulf of Mexico I loved it saw lots of fish and coral. Then to Miami where we managed a round of golf at one of the Doral courses. Torrential rain though , so bad the courses were closed for a day! Then up to Orlando where we swam with the dolphins and snorkelled again with the rays and tropical fish. The weather at home will be a shock to the system. I am also now on gardening leave for 3 months after taking voluntary redundancy I was told the day I finished for my holiday that that was my last day. Bit of a shock after 23 years I thought it would possibly be the end of December but no my final day is actually this Friday but as I M on leave that's it! I am going back in on monad to clear my desk etc. it will be a new start and who knows what the future will bring.

May I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving and a special day with those you love.

xxxxx

Sounds like you had a fantastic holiday, Lesley.  I love the table runner you made for your friend- Just my colors.  I thought you were looking forward to leaving work.  Did it just come before you were ready?     Ginny

Michelle:

Patricia Faye,

I didn't know we had another Texas Gal so close! I live in the Boerne area and we have another quilter in the Fair Oaks area and Devine area.  We need to plan a sewing day in this area!!

I am in the Dallas area, don't know if there are others in this area.

Lesley,

I just read your post. I am glad you had some fun prior to your job cut. What type of work did you do? Can you retire?

Hi Gang,  A Very Happy Thanksgiving to all.  It's going to be a quiet day.  Turkey with all the fixins for dinner.  Then off to my quilt studio for the rest of the day.

I am cooking and sewing. I have pieced the back for a UFO I am hoping to finish this month, LOL, lots of time. I'm working tomorrow so I don't know if I'm going to make it or not. It's my deadline, not really  critical. It's a holiday quilt for me so I just wanted to have it done for Dec. 1. I have prepared a broccoli salad, working on rolls and sweet potato casserole and trying to assemble the quilt. I'm taking the food to my son & dil's house later today. Hope everyone has a wonderful day. I have much to be thankful for and will spend the afternoon with four of my biggest blessings, Noah, Jeni, Liberty and Grady.

Zoe in an ideal world I would like to retire sadly DH has other plans for me. That's the drawback of marrying a much younger man!

So much paperwork think I need to find me a financial advisor to help
