Patti:I am sewing today!!!!
Enjoy! You deserve it!
I made my gazpacho which we'll have with dinner and a lot of basil pesto which I freeze in mini-muffin cups for future use.
On the banks of the Mississippi River in north central Minnesota (Brainerd lakes area)
Spent all afternoon cutting down bushes and trees at my Dad's house and bagging them up for DS2 to collect next week and get rid off. We have also changed Estate Agents(realtors)as the previous ones were worse than useless.
We have seen the terrible pictures of Nth Colorado geography not my strong point but I hope everyone is ok and not caught up in the floods.
The colorado bits on news, I'm praying for the people there.
Went out with DH to Thrift shop came across anew picture for my living room. I'm so excited about it. Still has original price tag on it. Called "Vintage Island Home" by Carl Valente all matted in blue and framed in oak!
Quilting My Rainbow
Way to go on your lucky find, Is!
My day started with work - no ribs up yet but the tail is coming together nicely - and then home to finish canning tomatoes. i only did half as many as I put up last year and even so I am tired of skinning the little red beasts. But, come January, I'll be glad I put forth the effort when we have tomato soup to warm our bones.
I took Bossman a jar of the pickles we made yesterday. He was so appreciative that I actually found myself considering offering to make him a full batch if he buys the cucumbers. Thankfully sanity returned before I opened my mouth....
Quilters are people who strip so they won't go topless.
I started on a new quilt today. I went to get a new pencil to use to outline the pattern but my car took me to the quilt store instead....( Herby want to be). I found two fabrics that will look good in the quilt and then I was also told how to trace the pattern better, using a window and taping the pattern the other way around so that when I put on the fusible web it will be the correct position.
I guess my car took me to the right place....lol
Dang! I can't move that well at half this woman's age! http://safeshare.tv/w/cdaBSBkGKr
Yes, isn't she great? Absolutely amazing. Ginny

Ah yes, canning/preserving time of year. It sure cuts into my sewing time. As I was cutting all that corn off the cob I was thinking Yikes, we grew enough to feed an army, then I realized I often do feed a small army. All my corn is in the freezer, 24 quarts worth. And 8 qts shredded zuchinni, and zuchinni bread, cakes and cookies. All that work now does make less prep work for dinners which translates into more time to sew this winter. Now If I could just get all my tomatoes canned I'd be happy.
I worked on a scrappy quilt. I have not done one before and I really like how it is turning out. I am kind of stumped on whether to add a plan border or if I just quilt and then add a scrappy binding. I am sure I will get better in the scrappy world and love the fact that I am using up my stash.
I finished 2 things today. One, a door prize for the Oregon coast retreat, and the other, a bag for my daughter's boyfriend's mother. Who likes purple and turquoise. The bag is reversible and the first 2 pictures are on side and the other two pictures are the reverse side. the shiny stuff is a zippered vinyl pocket.
Your bag looks wonderful Patti, how cool that it's reversible.
I forgot that I did squeeze in a little sewing, I needed a quick gift for a little girls birthday party so I sewed this up.
Very cute Jacy.
Patti. Love the bag you made.
Jacy, cute little girls bag, I'm sure she loved it.
How cute is that, Jacy. I'm sure she loved it. Ginny
Patti and Jacy, I love your bags! Nice work!
