That's entirely possible... but it's still Frances' fault  :o)  SHE's the one who suggested a swap.

Well, this conversation was just too tempting to stay away! .... Facebook didn't seem to mind fathoming all those little squares which are a BLAST to cut! I love watching my scraps DISAPPEAR... like vanish away! I'm going to love this swap! ... And the people in it! ... That's why I keep coming back to this site.

Roxana:
I'm going to love this swap!

Me too.  I'm planning a big quilt.  Just got some free fabric in the mail....over 100 pieces of scrap from a site I order from.  All I had to do was pay for shipping. And not just tiny pieces...lots of fat quarters and yardage.  I'm cutting those 2 inchers right now.

Is, Was I sick?  I don't recall saying anything, but yes, I am having some shortness of breath problems.  Saw the lung specialist last week-  he thinks things look pretty good.  Then I saw my Cardiologist and I need to get my echo done and then go back to see her  She is a new Dr that has taken over my previous Dr's practice.  Afterwards I went over to Guildcrafters and drooed a bit and bought a bit.   Hope you get your meds straightened out before your trip.  And have fun on your trip.   Ginny

Hoping to start a postage stamp square (2") swap soon.  Each 60 x 60 quilt needs 1600 squares. Nice thing is you can cut up your extra scraps and not buy any fabric for this one.  Roxana is going to start it sometime next week, I think.  I've already got 20 sets cut just tonight.  Doesn't take long when your sewing room is as messy as mine is and has as many left over scraps as I have, Nancy.

Wait a minute, this swap hasn't even been posted and you all are already cutting your pieces???  No wonder some of us can never keep up!  LOL

But it is so much fun! We did most of the talking about it on a QCA thread about the San Antonio Quilt Show before QCA went down. That's where it was planned. ... I tell you it is so much fun cutting up scraps and watch them disappear. I've cut over 200 in nothing flat. Fun! Fun! Fun!

Yes I am cutting away.  I got free fabric today.  Not bits and pieces but big hunks of fabric from an on line site that gives away its extra after cutting out their BOM's.  Just had to pay the postage to get it here.  I always cut up the scraps they send me..sometimes in strips, or squares or rectangles.  Knew I was going to do this swap so started already.  Thanks for the chuckle.  Roxana and I were emailing each other yesterday when the site was down.  I don't have time for Facebook with full time work.  I barely have time for QCA. LOL

Lesley,

I hope you do well on the diet. Just remember that if you work out, weight lift, and cut back calories and you burn off say 1900 calories and you eat 1400 calories then you will lost a pound a week. ( 500 calories x 7 = 3500, this is the same if you gain or lose)   I bought a FitBit and love it as it helps me see how many calories I burn. It is not good on weight training, but it still is good. This week I  started going to the gym to do more weight training as when you have more muscle, you will burn more calories not just the day you do it, but long term.

Just passing on what I have learned. I lost 20 pounds over the past 5 months. It was hard work, and I was not always perfect. I have 20-30 more to take off and I was walking 30 miles a week, now I am going to try to walk 20-24 along with doing the weight training 3 times a week. Oh, yeah, I took sugar out of my diet because I had real issues with control of eating too much. ( I was eating a whole cake in one setting...it did taste good, but , well the outcome was not what I liked....oh, I was doing this everyday....lol)

Good luck

Good morning!

Hope everybody has a great day today!

So, you all know how we're always warning newbies to be careful of rotary cutters and irons to avoid injury? We need to add ironing boards to the list...

Jr broke his arm on mine last night. Yeah. I know...normal kids break bones popping wheelies on their bikes or leaping off shed roofs, but I guess quilter's kids just gotta be different. *sigh* He tripped on the babygate and crash landed on my ironing board. I heard a crash, a giggle and "I'm alright!"  ...Whew. Mom can relax..... "My Arm's not." ...Ok, Maybe I can't relax. As soon as he said it i just knew he had a broken bone. Dh evaluated it and decided an x-ray was in order so off we went to the ER. The x-ray tech spoiled him and drove him all over the hospital hallway  on the gurney, him with a sheet over his face, giggling about being a zombie. Crazy... Anyway, he's in a splint for now and we'll be getting a cast as soon as I can get him an appointment in the big city.

Meanwhle the septic system at my work has failed. An epic stinky fail.... we're all glad that the city park has outhouses within walking distance.

Dh interviewed for an inter office job (promotion) yesterday. he's thinking one of his co-workers is gonna get it, but I think he has a fair chance. They are pretty evenly matched for qualifications, so it really just comes down to personality and politics. One other guy applied, but of the 3 he seems least likely to be chosen. They'll announce who got the position tonight at the staff meeting...   Which, ironically, DH may have to miss if Jr gets his cast this afternoon.

Have a super duper day Ever'body!

She's baaack!  The continuing saga of life at the CC abode.  Give Jr. a hug for me, if he'll let you.  Tell hubby I'm rooting for him.
