Lesley, if I was a child, I'd want to snuggle up in one of those beautiful, colorful "blankets" immediately! (even if it is nearly 100 degrees here ;-))

If you are cutting the 2 1/2 inch squares for 1 inch hexies from a strip, you might try this to make life a little easier: cut the length from the 2 1/2 inch strip at 2 5/8 inches. That will allow you a little extra 'fudge room' when going around the longest diameter of the hexie. I am able to do that will all the white background hexies and it makes folding a little easier for me. The 2 1/2 inch square works, but it is just a little easier at 2 1/2 X 2 5/8.
Beautiful, beautiful "blankies" Lesley. Ginny
Lesley, love your blankies, blue is my favorite color.
Lesley, two lovely quilts. Love the blues.
Thanks so much for your praise I am glad they look good, I never feel confident in showing my work so am flattered that you all like them.
MaxNTopeka:The 2 1/2 inch square works, but it is just a little easier at 2 1/2 X 2 5/8.
Good to know! Thanks, Max!
Waiting for DH to get home. Tomorow I head back to Drs. recheck before vaca.
Quilting My Rainbow
Today is so blasted hot here in the state of Nebraska! Feels like a blast furnace outside so this old girl is staying inside with the a/c. Daughter has started her junior year in high school and hubby is busy with the farming and golfing this summer. I on the other hand have been scouring many books and magazines for patterns to get started on. Have a feeling this may be the winter for a lot of sewing! You know that feeling you get that says,"watch whats coming?" That's the feeling I have.
i really don't have much newsie news so...........HappyQuilting All!
Lesley, your blankies are beautiful
Donna B:Also, did that huge T-Storm miss you last night?
either it missed us, or I missed it. What I did see looked far away, south east of here. We got some rain, but not a lot. Much of Oregon was under severe thunder storm alert.
I used google, but am learning some things from my daughter, like to self-clean the oven 1-2 days after it was last used. And the cookie sheets I bought today, (cheep walmart ones) may need to be dunked in the creek. then they will really need washing to avoid giardia or ecoli. and porcelain sink is impossible. So I bought a couple plastic basins today. If it was a stainless steel sink I could do something about it.
the McCord air force boys were showing off over the house this afternoon. Flew over 5 times, sometimes upside down. They are amazing to watch. Last time he did a quick tip of his wings at me. No one else around, so it had to be for me, right?
Leslie, great quilts, love the colors.
Thanks for sharing the missive from CC. I really miss her on here.
I wouldn't even know where to begin to make a kitchen kosher. Good luck and have a good visit with your family.
