Gini I think sewing season is just starting.  At least for me I think machines run better in cooler weather.  I don't know if this is true but I know I get more projects done in the fall and winter.

On my baby quilt all I have left to do is the binding!

In Oct I am going to Branson for a class reunion and will be driving so I will be able to hit up all the quilt shops I can find along the way. I will be traveling I-29 South out of Breckenridge, MN. There are shops in Springfield and Independence, MO that I plan on stopping to see as well as a couple in Omaha.

If anyone can lead me to their favorite shop along the route I would love to stop!

Michelle when I looked earlier I couldn't see the link to the video. The pictures look great though.

I can't wait to be in a normal routine so I can sew to my heart's content when I'm not working.  I so want to finish this blue quilt so I can quilt my baby quilt.  Oh and my DS1 is here for a week. I will need to cook more normal meals. Then a wedding in Winnipeg next weekend and then school again. We just got back from Winnipeg in a thunder storm and heavy rains.

MNnancy:

Leslie, how does your garden grow?  You aren't as dry as last year, are you?  We haven't had rain in a month, so all I do these days is drag the hose around - trying to keep the perennials and trees alive.  The grass just goes dormant.

Nancy, I didn't get a lot put out this year. Mainly just tomatoes and peppers okra, but they have all done very well. Seems like in July we received a lot of rain so that helped

Nancy, pretty much lol.  I was late getting stuff out then the floors had to be ripped out, just now I have finished, with those we made our own hard wood floors we wanted them to look like old plank floors that have been here for as long as the house, now let me tell you it is a lot of work trying to make floors look worn lol my knees and back well heck my whole body will never be the same LOL

Whoa!  That does sound like a lot of work.  Did you purchase the wood or cut and dry your own?   Our neighbor tried the latter, but he didn't have any way to dry them thoroughly, so after installation over the winter they shrunk and curled.

No we bought it  we used a Birch veneer plywood 3/4 inch thick pre-sanded, we cut them into planks ourselves 6inches wide and 4 to 8 ft long, so there was  no waste, then I used a weathered oak stain, going  lighter and darker in areas trying to make it look worn,  then I sanded it all down after the 2nd coat of polyurethane, then put 4 more coats on, will never take on another task like it again lol

Gini, I am staying at The Grand View Inn & Suites. The reunion is at The Westgate Branson Woods & Resort and on the map it looks to be only a couple of miles from the hotel I will be staying at.

Today I recuperated.  Went outside for more weeding of garden. Sewed my binding on, and now I'm having second thoughts on doing more quilting on it.  What do you think is it ok to add more quilting after binding is on or a bad idea?
