This quilt was made by members of my church years ago. It was sold and recently made its way back to us. All of the quilters who made squares have passed away. Can anyone help identify the pattern?
Oops. Pics posted in body of post didn't appear. See replies for pics.
Can't help you with the name but the quilt is wonderful!
It looks like a "Hands All Around" block. It looks like a beautiful quilt! Can you show us a picture of the whole quilt? What a great idea for a quilt with signatures of the quilters! Do you know about what year it was made?
In case anyone wants to try it, I found this quiz while searching for an answer to Alliecatky's question. It's a "can you name this quilt block?" quiz. I got about half right! Better study my quilt block books more closely.
Just downloaded the free pattern for "Hands All Around" from Quilt In a Day free patterns.
very nice quilt.
This quilt is stunning. I think Carol is right... it does look like Hands All Around.
Marie, I sent you a PM
Bev I got your message.
Thanks so much for the quick replies and info! This has been driving some of the ladies of the church mad!
Unfortunately, I live far from home right now and can't take my own photos of the quilt. I'm stuck with photocopies of actual photos that other people took, and none had a good view of the whole thing.
We're not sure exactly when the quilt was finished but do know that it was given to a new pastor of the church when he took over in 1956. I like the quilt because the names remind me of my childhood. I knew many of these ladies years after they made it.
