Have you recovered from your long drive Thea? That's a long trip and worse when tense because of bad weather. I have not worked on a quilt all week. Too many other things needing my time so far. I do have my quilt group Friday. We meet once a month to sew on whatever! Always fun. So, need to get in my quilting room and gather a project to work on. I finished a top for a friend's retirement. It's at the longarmer now. Think I'll make a pillow or two from the scraps. Just trying to decide on pattern and style. Maybe a roll pillow and a square. I guess from a "designer" standpoint I should make either one, or three. Never even numbers in decor!! haha.

I am recuperating slowly!  I stayed up there long enough to get over the drive up - :) and now have to rest till it eases up here at home.  It will - always does... - yes it was horribly tense driving through that storm - I called the kids once through it to see if I was expecting more on my trip but I was passed it and so glad that something woke me up at 2:38 and I started out earlier then I had expected to - if I had waited it would have been worse then it was -

I saw something about Pillow making from scraps today in one of my email messages... was interesting - talking about changing the moods in the house with pillow slips - have thought over and over I need to do something like that with all my scraps... Plus all the fabrics I have that are years old...

Thea, after I finished sewing on the border, then I cut out my binding pieces and each corner was almost 2 inches short? Had to cut and piece it together.  It gives it character but I did something wrong.

Donna - I will have to find the link to my binding tutorial - you never have to measure and it never turns out wrong.  I start with the length of each side added together and add 10" then I sew it together - width is 2 1/4" folded in half for a double binding!  My way is easy peasy and you can't go wrong!  There is a tutorial somewhere on here - maybe if Kris sees this she can find it as she can find almost anything...  I'll look for it in my picture folder too and may repost it over in CAYL

Thea I used the Ultimate Quilt Binding Tutorial  from Jenny Doan which seemed simple enough  I guess I must have just measured and cut wrong.

This will make a beautiful table topper Weezee. I have that pattern. In fact, I made it at the Oregon retreat last year.

Weezee and Judy, could you post the name of the table topper pattern or where you got it? I love it, would be perfect for my SIL for Christmas. If I start soon, maybe I would get it done for her! :) Thanks for any help you can offer!

I can't tell you the name, I found it when I was suf'n the internet, I liked the picture so I  kept it,. I have made up my own pattern from looking at it, I'm sure it is not exactly the same as Judy's.

Here's the one I made last year. I appliqued a poinsetta in the center.
