Great Finish Kris! I know that quilt gave you headaches, but it came out beautiful. I'm sure the recipient will treasure it!

I worked on quilting DD's star today. This will probably be my last shot at working on it til next week, but I am gettin' there, one little stitch at a time.

I can't help but think of our dear Barbara while I work on the FMQ. If it wasn't for her, I'd never heave been brave enough to try it, and this quilt would never have come to be.

Kris

After all of the trouble you had with this quilt, it is beautiful.  You are a special person to do this for a co-worker.  Your new template for the quilting is perfect.  You did a fantastic job.

The quilt turned out so nicely, and somehow, you still made your deadline despite the flurry of last-minute problems. Great job, Kris! There's no doubt he'll be very touched by the thoughtfulness!

Kris, I am madly packing last minute items for my trip north but opened my email and saw you had finished the quilt.  Beautiful!  Your work is fantastic and no one but those here who read your words will ever know that you were so frustrated with this quilt.  Amazing isn't what can happen when we are more stubborn then our tools.  Fantastic job and you are a truly wonderful woman!

Kris, your quilt is beautiful. Apparently all the suggestions on how to tame it put some fear in it and it decided to behave. LOL, we all know that you persevered and did not give up. Congratulations, it is beautiful and all those who helped have a right to be proud. I am sure your co-worker will love it and feel honored that you all think so highly of him. I am so excited to see what you will produce on you new longarm if you can do this with all the problems you had. Again, congratulations on a beautiful quilt!

I am slowly making progress on our aunts Quilt for her 90 th Birthday In May!  The butterfly's went quickly! I then wanted to keep it prim and proper looking, so I had this bright idea to embroider up the middle of the sashings, now I don't as of yet own an Embroidery machine. So I searched for ideas, was go info just applique vines and flowers and such, but I wasn't getting the look I wanted for this special 90 year old delicate woman, so I stumbled on iron on embroidered embellishments, yes I adhered them with an iron, but I also have appliquéd them down with tiny freakin stitches!! OMG, HOW LABOR INTENSIVE IS THIS!  I really need my head checked.  Ok, deep breath,   I also cut the vines up and positioned them how I liked them arranged!  I am now in the process of make the outside sashings, yep, you guessed it It will be the same all around, with additions of embroidered applique small butterflies . I believe  the final border will be the same color as my corner stones, I am going to scallop the borders. I want it simple but old fashioned elegant, like her.  So I can see daylight now, almost to the finish line!  So far I think I like it,   Oh yeah het fav color is Green!  I haven't pressed this yet!
