Welcome, MamaG!  Great quilt!

Diane, here's a link to the tutorial (it came in my email yesterday) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVJS2BXlvNE

Found one more project that I did last week that helped break me out of my quilting slump...

mamags, your quilt is lovely, love the colors.  Will you border it?  Can't wait to see it finished.  Will you quilt it or send it out to the long armer?

Debbie-do, love your fabric baskets, is there a tutorial on them?  Maybe that's what I need to do to get out of my slump, make a small project

This is the project that got me started!

My big one started with a 14" square with 2 1/2" corners.   The small one started with 7 1/2" square with 1 1/2" corners.

Debbie-do, love the fabric baskets. I made a couple of them this past Christmas, one for my  SS and one for DD. I made them a bit bigger so a square tissue box fit inside.

Marie, you will enjoy making them, they're quick and easy

Judy - If your pic that accompanies your posts are recent - you look MAHVALOUS!!!  for 72 (at least that's the age I THINK I read...forgive me if I'm adding some years) - never would have guessed!

Well, thank you didash. But in the interest of full disclosure, LOL,  I really need to update that photo. It was taken on a cruise about 6 years ago.

Yes I'm going to border it with a solid coordinating color and yes I will quilt it myself.  I am trying to perfect my free motion quilting.  Wish me luck.  I'll definitely post the finished project.  Thanks for all the replies.

So glad to hear of successful back surgeries!!! You ladies certainly are the first :)  But like anything else, I suppose there's the good, bad, and the just plain ugly!

Kind of like when my stepdaughter was going in for gastric bypass...several of my customers wanted her phone number to try to talk her out of it....one ended up with no stomach at all (in the end) and the other wound up in a coma for several months...but she did just fine and is soooo glad she did it.  Matter of fact, her husband went through it a year later (he needed to do it even more than her - and has lost much more than her).  They both feel they made the right choice.  Laura did hers for medical reasons - when from diabetes and a handful of pills daily to NO DIABETES and a half of a blood pressure pill within the time it took to do the surgery!  The weight loss, in her mind, was merely a bonus :)

Better get dinner started so I can pull out my old back-up machine and get some piecing done tonight...

Cheers!

After making breakfast and starting the laundry, waiting on DH...I decided to quilt.  Finished the blocks and borders for the baby quilt and got it loaded on the frame.  Now trying to come up with the energy to start the quilting.  Good thing about these small baby quilts, I'm able to use up many scraps (for the stars and pinwheels) and also some large pieces of batting that have been sitting around the sewing room.  Lots of smaller pieces of batting left...maybe I'll try a couple of those boxes and use them for Easter baskets for the little ones.

mamagshouse ... love your quilt --- You'll love QCA. Let us know if you have any questions. We're all glad to have you here!

Debbie -- great job on the projects --- and thanks for sharing the links

I almost think we need a thread that just gives us links to great resources and projects. What do you all think?

I cleaned out my magazines today and sorted them. I will be taking several of the old ones to Quilt Guild in May to give away.
