Great job on your Branson quilt. Free is always a good thing.  Brigit-Carol, glad you're feeling better.

Didn't do much (any) sewing but played with fabric.  Pulled out a very old UFO and discovered I still need to make one more block.   No problem.  I have plenty of fabric.  I just can't decide on what to use for the sashing since I don't like what I had bought for it eons ago.   I found one that I thought would work.  Cut it up into strips.  Laid it out and now I think it might be too busy.  Really don't want to buy more fabric so I guess I will play some more and make a big mess of my sewing room as I pull out  more fabrics.  And I had everything so tidy since I cleaned it up over the weekend......(sigh) Tomorrow I'm going to put it all up on my design wall and take pictures.  maybe then I can decide.

Candis, I took your advice.  Here is the photo.  The background fabric on the left is what came with the kit for sashing.  The middle sashing is a dark plum with flowers and the dark sashing to the right of that is solid dark plum.  The fabric on the far right is the border fabric.

Ohhhh, me first!!!  I love this first of all!!i would pick the dark floral for sashings. Makes the blocks pop.  But not harsh!  Adds decorative interest!  Love the border, but would put t the sashing strip there before the lovely border!the lt green to me kinda blends and washes out your beautiful blocks. To much neutral I think!     Ok this was my consultation!  I'm pretty cheap, so I'll just charge you  ANOTHER PICTURE WHEN YOUR DONE,! It really is lovely.  Love the fabrics!!

I agree with Candis, I like the dark floral sashing. The green also looks good if you want a more muted look. This really beautiful Pat. What if you used the dark plum for the little center blocks in the sashing?

I'm so happy I asked.  The plum floral was my first choice but then I started second-guessing myself.  Didn't like the dirty washed out lite olive green at all.  So then I was thinking maybe the solid plum with star sashing.  Do you think the star sashing would work with the floral.   I think when I get it finished, it will be pretty spectacular. !

Thank you Candis and Judy for your advice.  I appreciate it (especially since you like what I liked! LOL)

Pat, you have great taste!! Great minds think alike.  A star for the little corners you mean, maybe for a secondary design, that green may look good there.  But I defiantly loved your choice!!

Yeah, stars between each block/sashing intersection.  Instead of using solid cornerstones(?) make stars.  I could use the green or I could use the lite purple that is in a number of the blocks.

By the way I will gladly pay your fee.  LOL

Pat, I love star sashings and use them often in my quilts. Good idea. The dark plum star points may not show up very prominently against the plum floral. If you have enough fabric to play with, make one and see how it looks.

I llove the star idea, man are we twins, separated??  The lighter purple would be perfect!!  Just enough color variation to have a little 3 d effect going on, a feast for the eyes for sure!  Glad you agreed to my terms!!
