Darlene :
I always know something is finished when the cat curls up on it.

Wish I could say that. Our big white cat curls up on my quilts in progress and doesn't want to move. But, I really don't mind. I'll share with him. He's old and entitled to lay his head anywhere he wants.

LOL!  I'm not really that speedy - the I Spy Jar quilt is just a fast sew...everything can be chain pieced!  Jenny Doan's (MSQC) tutorial was really helpful :)  It also helped that the recipient is still tiny so it didn't have to be bed-sized!!  This is one she can "grow into".  Added bonus:  Had the fabrics for the jars in my stash, only spent $1 on the FQ for the border at the AQS show, got the minky for the back at 1/2 price in Lancaster (their regular price!).  Just had to get the backing fabric (on sale) at Hobby Lobby!! Whoo Hoo!!!  Whole quilt for less than $10...doing the happy dance in Delaware!

Carol - just LOVE the quilt!!! I'm so impressed - REALLY!!  I hope to one day be able to quilt like that.  In a year of quilting, my piecing has gotten much better...my quilting - not so much :(   What a thoughtful gift for Patrick's nephew! I know there will be some tears - I had to wipe them away just reading your description - then when I saw the pic....WOW!!!!!  Well done woman!!!!!

Diane,  Thank you for the compliments!

I am happy to have it done so I can mail it to Nate but I'm sad that it's done because i felt close to my boyfriend when I was working on it. The shirts still have his scent. I know Nate will love it and will cherish it.

My quilting, free motion, is horrible!  I do all my quilting with a Statler Stitcher.

Carol, what a very thoughtful gift you've made, it's amazing!  Better bring a box of tissues with you when you present it.

I read over the last 7 or 8 pages and love the projects I see.

I'm finally over the crud I picked up in Branson whilst on retreat, so am starting to finish up the projects I began there.  I bordered the Criss Cross I started.  Several made this pattern from layer cakes, but some kind person had bought a stack of blue fabrics, most pieces were 9-1/2" wide, so I cut my own.  The only purchased piece on this whole quilt is the gold inner border, and that was from my stash.  I love freebies!

Well Done!  This pattern would make a great charity quitl.  Love the design.  Where can I locate the pattern? This monthmy church group is making quilts for a cancet center.  This would be a perfect quilt  for my donation.  Good Job!

BC love that quilt!  Freebies are fantastic!  Glad your feeling better!   I also think I will make one of these quilts. Sometimes I like doing quick and easy! This is a great lap quilt pattern!  Love the blues!   Thanks for sharing!
