Got the baby down for a nap, so I think I'll work on the LUS for awhile. Still trying to get it caught up...
Well, I have the day off from child care. I finished up these 2 wall hanging/ table topper, I added a sleeve so can be used for either one. They are made from a St Patrick's swap a couple of years ago. I'm giving one to my neighbor, she has been good about taking in packages and letting in the bug guy. It's her birthday month and she likes to decorate for all holidays.
Bonita, love your wall hangings very cute
Bonita the shamrock star or snowflake is intime for holiday fast approaching.
Quilting My Rainbow
Bonita - I love it - my DIL and son would sure love that - they are big into the Irish! Jay and I got married on St Patrick's day but it was so he would remember our anniversary. I don't have any Irish on my side and not sure if he does... but my DDIL does.
That is so very adorable and looks like an easy quilt to do - did it take you long? I love the fabrics you used - so happy looking. Wnderful Job and very timely for the 17th.
Super cute, Bonita! How do you actually get a day off from child care?
Thanks Leslie and IS for your kind comments.
Thea, Thanks and no it only took a short time to piece but 2 years to get it out of the UFO pile. Then quilted and bound in one day.
Karla, thank you, I get almost every Monday off, DD usually doesn't work on Mondays. Not always able to count on it though.
My one daughter is lucky that she gets Sunday off...only because they don't deliver mail on that day...she usually has to work her other day off, which rotates from week to week. The daughter I babysit for usually has the weekends off, except at the end of the month.
Bonita, love your wall hanging/table topper. Happy St. Pats day!
After taking 15 yr old DGS to school at 10, driving 40 miles and waiting through the line at DMV (to save $98 by turning in Veteran's exemption), then stopping at sister-in-laws for a couple of hours, then TaeKwonDo with the other DGS, and then making dinner, I finally sat down and made another block for the LUS. Only one more (and it has 76 small pieces) and I'll be caught up with the current assignment. I should get the next 6 made though so I can post next Tuesday, but I think I will work on my BOM which should have been done last week. I need to get the blocks posted on the LQS website so they can see I'm doing them to keep my discount.
Who knows when I will ever touch DJ and Garden Party again...I've got to get busy on a baby quilt for a baby shower on Apr. 26.
I made this baby quilt for a close family friend.
Darlene, the baby quilt is adorable! So nicely done. Did you do the embroidery? I've been thinking of getting a new embroidery machine and can't decide if I want to do that or get new counters, floor, and backsplash for my kitchen. If you did the embroidery, what machine do you have?
Your baby quilt is so bright and cheery! I love the combination of embroidery and patchwork. Great job!
Yes, I did the embroidery. I have a Brother Quattro 2. I love to do embroidery and quilting and mostly combine the two.
Thanks for the compliment. If you get an embroidery machine you will not be sorry.
Thanks again and God Bless.
