Agnes, your Angel quilt is so beautiful. You do such wonderful work.

CC, Jr's quilt looks like so much fun. Love the starship and background fabrics.

Agnes:
The question becomes whether it is suitable for charity quilts as that is the direction my quilt making is taking.
Why would it not be suitable for charity quits? In fact, I think it's an awesome idea. I know of a lot of Sr ladies who can no longer do any stitching of their own who would welcome lap quilts that have embroidered panels. they'd appreciate the work you put into them and I'm sure feel very honored to have such a gift.

Thanks for steering me in the direction of Sr ladies. I have tons of flower embroidery blocks that would be perfect. When I made the comment I was thinking of children. Next fabric order will have embroidery fabric included.

Diana, I didn't proofread my response to you. Your link worked fine, I was able to watch the video from your link. I  got an error message when I tried to search QCA. I wasn't able to get to home either.  And it was rather strange that I could find links to some parts of the BOM and not others when I searched with Google. Thanks again for finding the link.

Today I finished the quilting on MQ9,..now just need to get the binding ready.  Hopefully, if I get it done in the next week I will have met my goal of two quilts (both UFO's) completed this month,

I think I broke my toe going in to 'tuck Jr in" and "accidently" setting my flashlight on one of the g-i-d stars on his quilt. His reaction more them makes up for the sore foot: " Momma! You made me a magic quilt!" Of course,t hat brought his older brother running. jr can't find any of his flashlights in that mess he calls his room, but DS had one so he came to the rescue. Sprout saw the light flashing around and had to go investigate... and now I hear a whole lot of giggling going on. Someone just burst forth with "*giggle* This is so-o-o much fun!" only to be quickly shushed by a brother cautioning him  that i'll hear them and make them go to bed. LOL

Agnes

This is gorgeous!  I love the angels and the different blues used in the alternate blocks.  Anyone receiving this quilt will be so blessed.

I finished several Dear Jane blocks and also finished the MQ6 top.  Found some backing material in my stash.  Now just hae to cut it and sew it together and MQ6 will be ready for the LAQ.  Haven't yet learned how to FMQ.  That's on my bucket list for this year.   Starting on another UFO today.

Pat Lancaster:

I am working on "Jodie's BOM Sampler" from 2010. I have been doing quilt as you go and am at the point of putting the last row of blocks on. I want to attach the final row of blocks and the border and and then finish the quilting. Unfortunately I can't find the instructions for the border. I did a search of the site and not surprisingly couldn't find a thing. I did a search on the internet and can find some of the steps, but not the border step. The border consists of 2.5 inch strips sewn together. I have a baggie with yellow, green, pink and blue strips. I can invent something, LOL, but if anyone has the directions I would appreciate hearing from you. Thanks for any help.

Pat - hope this helps :)

Pat if you don't find it there - email me I have it on my computer since i wrote most of the steps for that quilt and was the original maker of it... it is not that hard - pretty easy to tell the truth... but just email me..

Pat - I found the instructions for the borders in the Group - if you go to the filtering and sorting tab - select all posts - or something like that and you will see the thread border instructions - but just in case you can't -

Okay - we are on the borders - YIPEE!!!

We are using Baggy F...

Fabrics 1, 3, 4, 7 & 9

Fabrics 1 & 3 - you were to cut 5 strips 2 1/2 x WOF

Fabrics 4 & 7 cut 5 strips 2 1/2 x WOF

Fabric 9 cut 16 strips 2 1/2 x WOF

Now you should have already sub cut these... but if you didn't

Fabrics 1 & 3 you need to recut so you have...2 1/2 x 32 1/2" you also need 5  2 1/2 " squares

Fabric 4 & 6 you need to recut so you have 2 1/2 x 28 1/2 and 5  2 1/2 " squares

Fabric 9 you need to recut to have ...8 that are 28 1/2" and 8 that are 32 1/2"

Okay - I changed my cutting and sewing to make it a little easier... Instead of cutting down my strips I sewed them together as follows...

You need to sew a fabric 1 on either side of a fabric 9(2 sets)  and a 1 inside 2 fabric 9's...

you need to sew a fabric 3 on either side of a fabric 9(2 sets)  and a 3 inside 2 fabric 9's

you need to sew a fabric 4 on either side of a fabric 9(2 sets) and a 4 inside 2 fabric 9's

you need to sew a fabric 6 on either side of a fabric 9(2 sets) and a 6 inside 2 fabric 9's

when you cut these down to the 28 1/2' for the top and bottom strips....and 32 1/2" for the sides... cut an additional 2 1/2" strip from these sets for your corner 9 patch blocks...

You need to have alternating strip sets - look at the picture of the quilt and you will see what I am talking about...

If this doesn't help - email me!
