Beautiful OBW, Debbie! It looks like you really put a lot of work into that quilt. I like how you used the fabric in its original state for the border. I have one OBW started and the fabric purchased for another. I just may use your border idea for one or both of them.

Bonita, are those darling little girls in your avatar pic your granddaughters?  How nice to "meet" them!  What are they holding?

Yes Nancy they are, Lilah age 5 and Lalehan age 3. This was one of the pics a co-worker of DDs who took them so she could get some experience for a side job. One of her props was a big rustic star.

This is a picture of my first block and its taken about a month so i might be right in my guesstimate that it will take me three years to complete.  Happy quilting everyone.

Angele, the bag turned out pretty well. I'm pleased with this pattern. Lots of steps but not hard to make. I'm actually thinking of making another one for me, but using an insulated plastic for the lining so I can use for a lunch bag. I'll post pics if I do. I'll also take closer pics today as I'm finishing up the inside dividers for the camera equipment. Yeah!

Angele, the quilt was a wonderful hit. His sister was not happy that she didn't get one this year also, but I made her a queen sized one about  2 years ago as a block of the month. It was super expensive as you had to but the pattern and the blocks then dashing, backing ect. But this was youngest sons first real quilt. Prior one was a wall hanging with all Texas appliqués.

On to working on 2 baby quilts today for a set of twins.

It's last day of 2013, kinda sad!  My DH is semi-retiring, going to draw his SS and work part-time; then both my boss and a co-worker are retiring today - have worked with them both for 17 years so really hate to see them both go.  We don't know who will be replacing boss and both dread and welcome someone new.  My boss will admit she's more lax and lenient and some of the staff need an awakening to get out of the rut they are in, so will see what happens!  D''on't know how long it will take before a new boss comes on board but my boss's boss (D) is notorious for taking her time to find the right person.  She once took 9 months to find a new manager.  Kinda leaves the rest of the staff uncertain from day to day and you get frustrated.  especially me, since I'm the asst manager and D is interim manager, she'll be checking in 2-3 days a week.
