Thanks for the comments on my quilt for grandson. I will not do one this way again. I will use blocks instead of trying to use a piece of material. Then I will put the throw on the back. But he will love it and will not see the mistakes until maybe he is older. God Bless. Darlene in Indiana

I would like to welcome all the new members to QCA. I am new to QCA myself and hope to learn a lot about quilting. I made this quilt top about a month ago and it was the first pieced quilt I have ever made.

Very pretty, hhhdmh.  Piecing is my favorite part, doing the quilting is another story all together.

Thanks! I have been bitten by the quilting bug. I do use embroidery in my quilts. But now I will do more of the traditional quilting, I hope. Thanks again and God Bless. Darlene in Indiana

My avatar is my son and grandson with the 19 1/2 pound cabbage my grandson grew in our garden for a school project. It was the biggest cabbage I had ever seen.

I'm working on quilts. Got an unexpected "free" day. Several friends were supposed to come up from out of town but weather prevented the drive. So, house is tidy, soup is already bubbling and no company! Dogs are curled up by the fireplace, cat is on my worktable and hubby is happily doing something.

I'm working on Loyal Union Sampler blocks and playing with EQ7 designing the layout I may use. It's snowing outside but warm and cozy inside. Perfect day.

I have no idea what 5 year old girls are into. Probably iPads and piercings. But I got a kit for this felt doll in a magazine so I made it. Then I made a bed for it with a pillow and a matching standard size pillow for my niece. No clue if she'll like it, but I had fun making it. Lol.

Carolyn, your doll and bed along with the matching pillowcase are sure to be a hit.

I have a more serious problem with my GGD who will be 6 on Christmas eve, she wants a bald headed baby with eyes the open and close and feels like a real baby when you hold it.  Do you know where she saw one?  In my doll bed.  The doll is 70 years old and was mine when I was small.  It wears preemie size clothes.  She wants one just like mine so she can practice for when her Mom has her baby in April.   You can't get those kind of dolls anymore.   --- but she asked Santa for one.    Goinny
